Do you need Arizona Hunting education?

You need education if you are 10 to 13 years old and you will be hunting big game in Arizona. If you are a resident of Arizona, you can choose to complete either the Online-Only course or Online + In-Person Field Day course. However, if you are a non-resident, you are required to take the Online + In-Person Field Day course.

After This Course

If you choose the Online + In-Person Field Day course, then you are required to attend the Field Day to complete your hunter safety certification.

If you are a resident and choose the Online-Only course, you will receive your permanent Certificate of Completion after successfully completing the online course.

How do I get my Arizona Certificate of Completion?

1. Study and pass the Arizona Game and Fish Department–Approved online course.

Study and pass the $24.95 course. Throughout the Arizona Hunter Ed Course, you’ll be tested on what you’ve learned.

2. Complete your certification requirements.

If you are a resident of Arizona, you can choose to take the Online-Only course or Online + In-Person Field Day course.

If you are a non-resident, you can only take the Online + In-Person Field Day course.

After completing the Online + In-Person Field Day course, you will be able to print out your Field Day Qualification Exam Certificate, which you will bring with you to the Field Day. The Field Day Qualification Exam Certificate is good for 90 days. You need to locate and sign up for the Field Day. To sign up, go to https://register-ed.com/programs/arizona/113.

Remember: Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Field Day.

3. Get your Arizona Certificate of Completion.

You'll receive your permanent Certificate of Completion after successfully completing the Field Day. The Certificate of Completion will be mailed to you.

If you complete the Online-Only course, you will be able to immediately print out your Certificate of Completion.

If you complete the Online + In-Person Field Day course, you'll receive your permanent Certificate of Completion after successfully completing the Field Day. The Certificate of Completion will be mailed to you.

Course Approval and Acceptance

Is the Arizona Hunter Ed Course approved by the Arizona Game and Fish Department?

The Arizona Hunter Ed Course is approved and accepted by the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

Is my Arizona Certificate of Completion accepted elsewhere?

All U.S. states, provinces, and other countries that have mandatory hunter education requirements will accept the Arizona Certificate of Completion. Likewise, Arizona will accept Hunter Education certifications that are issued by other jurisdictions that meet official IHEA-USA requirements. (This is known as “reciprocity.”)

Quizzes and/or Exams

I failed a unit quiz. Have I failed the course?

If you fail a unit quiz, you can take it again until you pass. You must score at least 80% on the unit quizzes to pass.

Do I have to take an online exam?

The Final Exam is the exam you take at the end of the online course. You must score at least 80% on the Final Exam to pass. You have 2 attempts to pass the Final Exam. If you do not pass the exam in the 2 attempts given, you will be required to repeat the entire course. If you don’t complete the exam in one session, don’t worry. When you log in later, you will be taken to the first unanswered question of the exam.

About Your Certification

What is the proof of online Arizona Hunter Ed Course completion?

Once you pass and pay for the Online-Only course, you will be able to immediately print your proof of course completion and/or request that a PDF be emailed to you.

Once you pass and pay for the Online + In-Person Field Day course, you will be able to print out your Field Day Qualification Exam Certificate. This is your proof of online course completion. You can print the Field Day Qualification Exam Certificate right then, and/or request that a PDF be emailed to you. This certificate EXPIRES 90 days after course completion.

What is the permanent Arizona Certificate of Completion?

The Certificate of Completion is proof that you have successfully completed all the education requirements. The Certificate of Completion will be mailed to you by the Arizona Game and Fish Department after you complete all certification requirements.
