Migratory Birds: Doves
For many hunters in Arkansas, the opening morning of dove season is considered the unofficial start to the “fall hunting season.”
- These migratory rockets are one of the most abundant game birds in the United States, offering both a unique shooting challenge and excellent table fare. And when the birds are present, hunters have many shooting opportunities.
- Dove hunters in Arkansas are allowed to harvest three species: mourning doves, white-winged doves, and Eurasian-collared doves. The most common species is the mourning dove, and the largest bodied of the three is the Eurasian-collared dove.
- Check the current AGFC migratory birds hunting regulations for dates, bag limits, and license requirements.
