Just in time for bowhunting season, we're excited to announce that Louisiana bowhunters can now complete their online bowhunting safety education through Bowhunter-Ed!

Archery season begins in September in Louisiana for deer hunts. So, whether you're planning your first archery hunt this season or you just want to brush up on bowhunting safety, we're here to help.

Why take a bowhunter safety course? Let's talk about what you'll learn and how it can make you a better (safer) hunter.

Why Learn About Bowhunting Safety?

The most important reason to learn about bowhunting safety is . . . safety! Hunters must understand how to use a bow and arrows safely when hunting to avoid injuring themselves or others. Every time you head out for a hunt, safety must be a priority.

However, bowhunting safety goes far beyond just not hurting yourself. It's also about how to hunt ethically, how to ensure an ethical kill shot, and how to stay safe when in the field by applying general hunting best practices.

When all bowhunters abide by the same safety principles and rules that guide hunting in general, we reduce the risk of injuries and deaths during the hunting season. Plus, safe hunters are better hunters, meaning you improve your chances of enjoying more hunts and harvests!
