Safety plan

Safety of crew members and the public should be the highest priority on any prescribed burn. A safety plan should be a part of all prescribed burn plans. The safety plan should be explained as a part of the pre-burn crew briefing. Although the burn boss has overall responsibility for safety on the burn, each crew member has a personal responsibility to keep themselves and their fellow crew members safe. Unit 3 lists the elements that should be included in the safety plan.
