In addition, because his firearm was pointed into the ground, his barrel became obstructed with some dirt. He failed to see this and continued on without making his firearm safe.
Let’s take a look at how this scenario should have played out. Our hunter has two hands securely on his firearm. When our hunter falls, he falls correctly by maintaining his two hands on his firearm and covers the trigger guard ensuring proper muzzle control. He then unloads his firearm and checks for obstructions.
