Funding for Conservation and AZGFD

As a customer of AZGFD you contribute directly to the goals of the agency.

We are able to provide habitat and species conservation through funding from the sale of hunting and fishing licenses, which come from active hunters and anglers.

In order for us to expand our ability to conserve and protect Arizona’s wildlife we must increase our income, which comes from a user-pay system. Certain work units within AZGFD are designed to target expansion and education of our customer base to help maintain and expand participation in the traditional funding schemes.
