Lymphoproliferative Disease Virus (LPDV): What You Can Do
Successful turkey hunters should consider submitting samples to AZGFD for testing. Hunters can submit one of the turkey’s legs or the heart for testing. To submit a leg: Cut the leg off at the hock joint, right where the scales end. Legs should be kept cold or frozen and can be turned in to your local AZGFD office or to a wildlife manager. Please spread the word! You can help keep Arizona’s turkey populations healthy by telling other hunters about the LPDV surveillance program and encourage them to submit a leg.
