Many other opportunities to hunt small game and upland game birds are available in Arizona. Chukars test the endurance of hunters in northern Arizona. Dusky or blue grouse and band-tailed pigeons challenge hunters in the White Mountains, San Francisco Peaks and North Kaibab. Waterfowl species along the Colorado River and distributed on many of the state’s lakes, reservoirs and tanks provide ample opportunities to test shooting skills and harvest colorful fare for the table.
