Course Outline

Large sections of Arizona will experience 100+ degree days for almost a third of the year. But snow, ice and freezing temperatures are also common. The hottest recorded temperature of 128 degrees in Lake Havasu City is a big swing from the coldest temperature of -40 degrees in the White Mountains. The dry air is a major factor here as it cools much faster than moist air. Remember: Layers are your friend. You can remove or add layers throughout the day as conditions change and if you end up stuck away from camp overnight you won’t freeze. Dress for the worst weather conditions you expect to encounter.
