When in the field hunters are typically side-by-side. In a boat you should be positioned back-to-back. By having hunters firing in opposite directions it maintains the boats stability. Hunters should not fire to the same side. The double, unbalanced recoil will tip the boat in the opposite direction and you may capsize.
