Blaze Orange
The requirements for wearing blaze orange depend on what and when you are hunting.
- When hunting upland game birds—including gray partridge, pheasant, quail, and ruffed grouse—you must wear at least one item that is at least 50% blaze orange. The acceptable items include:
- Cap
- Coat
- Coveralls
- Hat
- Jacket
- Shirt
- Sweatshirt
- Vest
- When hunting deer with a firearm in any season, you must wear at least one item, other than a hat, that is all blaze orange. The item can be any of the following:
- Coat
- Coveralls
- Jacket
- Shirt
- Sweater
- Sweatshirt
- Vest
- When hunting deer using a blind during regular shotgun deer seasons:
- You must place at least 144 total square inches of blaze orange material on the blind. The orange material must be visible in all directions.
- You also must meet the blaze orange clothing requirements for hunting deer with a firearm.
