Poaching and Arson Hurt All Missourians
You may not ”feel the pain” of poaching and arson personally, but these crimes can affect you.
- Poachers steal your opportunity to hunt, trap, or fish legally. By cheating and not using the permit system, poachers cheat every Missouri taxpayer. The Missouri Department of Conservation depends on revenue from hunting and fishing permits to manage wildlife populations and habitat.
- Arsonists can destroy property, deplete community firefighting funds, and take local firefighters’ lives.
Operation Game Thief
Operation Game Thief is a Missouri Department of Conservation program for reporting violations. If you witness or suspect illegal or dangerous activities, including wildlife violations, arson, or rule violations in state conservation areas or at shooting ranges, report them by calling 1-800-392-1111.
