Grading Factors
Before purchasing, fur buyers will grade your pelts based on primeness, size, and damage.
Based on these factors, a pelt is given one of the following grades.
- “One” (I) or “one part two” (I pt. II). These are the best pelts and will bring the highest prices.
- Second (II). These pelts are lower quality. They have slight damage or other slight problems.
- Third (III). These pelts have more significant damage.
- Fourth (IV). These pelts are non-prime or badly damaged. They have very little value.
