Native animals

It is important that hunters only target species that are permitted to be hunted under the Game and Feral Animal Control Act 2002. Native animals in this Act are protected in NSW and cannot be hunted on public land.

Some native species can be hunted on private land when the landholder and hunter are appropriately licensed. More information can be found in Unit 6 - Hunting on private land.
