Enforcement
TWRA Wildlife Officers enforce the Tennessee hunting, fishing, and trapping laws. They also have the authority to enforce all other state laws. Full-time officers are located in each county and have responsibilities that include:
- Patrolling assigned areas to enforce laws governing the taking, possessing, transporting, and disposing of wildlife
- Investigating suspected hunting and trapping violations
- Checking to make sure hunters and trappers have the correct licenses and tags and have not exceeded the bag limits
- Working with schools, clubs, and organizations to teach courses and promote wildlife-related projects
- Communicating with radio, television, and press media
