Legal Hunting Equipment
The following hunting equipment is legal in Tennessee:
- Shotgun ammunition that is loaded with No. 4 shot or smaller
- Firearm magazines with an unrestricted number of rounds
- Longbows, recurve bows, compound bows, crossbows, and other bows that are drawn or held by a mechanical device
- Firearms and archery equipment equipped with sighting devices; however, you may not use:
- Devices that use an artificial light capable of locating wildlife
- Night vision scopes
- Suppressors/silencers if the person using them possesses the required federal license from the U.S. Department of Treasury and has the license on his/her person
