Incidental Take
Here are the Pennsylvania regulations regarding incidental take.
- Trappers using cable restraints intended for foxes and coyotes may keep non-target furbearers that are captured incidentally if:
- There is an open season for that furbearer and…
- The trapper has a license and/or permit for that furbearer.
- Bobcats may not be taken in cable restraints during the bobcat hunting season.
- Any other furbearers incidentally captured with a cable device must be released alive.
- Animals mistakenly killed with cable restraints must be reported to the Game Commission officer in the county where the kill occurred.
